A leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Deputy Chairman of the party in Ekiti State, Mrs. Kemisola Olaleye has called on the party’s governorship aspirants in Ekiti state to emulate the political attitude of Dr. Wole Oluyede by ensuring that they keep in touch with political stakeholders in the state, saying, ‘nobody sits at home and wins any election.”

Olaleye urged all the aspirants in the state to be committed to their ambitions, reach out to groups, eligible voters, respected opinion leaders and others stakeholders in every part of the state to convince them on why they should embrace and support their ambitions.

The APC stalwart made the call at a Oye Ekiti during the just concluded meetings/ tour of the three senatorial districts in the state by the party.  The State’s party meeting/ tour of  Ekiti North Senatorial District  was held in Oye Ekiti, Oye Local Government area.

Also speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Ekiti North Senatorial District of the party, Honourable Wale Aina said the event was the first elaborate meeting of the party in the District.

The meeting however, afforded the five local governments areas in the district: Ikole, Moba, Oye, Ido – Osi local and Ilejemeje to table their challenges for discussions, deliberations and with possible solutions proffered to some of them.

One of the critical issues raised and discussed at the meeting was the challenge of mobilising eligible voters and members to participate in the review of voters’ registration exercise in the state.

The party’s chairmen from the five local government areas identified finance as the major constraint to mobilising people for the exercise in their respective local government areas.

Explaining efforts made so far to ensure party members and sympathizers got registered, the State Deputy Chairman of the party appealed to prominent members  to come to the financial aids of the party.

Party leader, who commended some of the party stalwarts for their enviable leadership roles of providing regular financial support to the party, assured that the demands would be met soon.

Notable among leaders who received commendations at the meeting were: Honourable Minister for Solid Minerals, Mines and Steel, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, APC Vice Chairman, South West, Engr. Segun Oni, Former Governor, Ekiti state, Otunba Niyi Adebayo among others.

Expectedly, arrival of the governorship aspirant, Dr. Wole Oluyede at the venue charged and changed the entire situation; transforming it to a real political atmosphere as chanting of ‘Oluyede’, ‘Ekiti rebirth’, complemented with musical performance of ‘EKITI KETE,’ rent the air.

Dr. Oluyede who spoke at the meeting on his agenda for the state if nominated as the APC’s flag bearer during 2018 governorship election in the state, assured the people that he would fulfill all his campaign promises, when he assumed the position of the governor in 2018.

Also in attendance at the meeting were APC Publicity secretary, Right Honourable Taiwo Olatunbosun and other executives of APC in the state
