The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Aspirant in Ekiti State, Dr. Wole Oluyede has felicitated with Muslim Faithful in the state and Nigeria on the celebration of end of Ramadan fasting, Eid-al-Fitri.
In a statement from his Media Office, made available to Newsmen, Oluyede enjoined all Muslims to always uphold the tenets of Islam they put into practice during the Ramadan fasting..
He said ‘steadfastness in prayers, unity, peace and love should not be limited to Ramadan period alone, but should be done at all time.
It would be recalled that Muslims in Nigeria joined their brethren all over the world to observe Ramadan fasting on May 27 and ended it yesterday.
Ramadan Fasting, which is observed annually, is one of the five pillars of Islam, lasting for 30 days.
Muslim faithfuls believe it is a period of self restraint and abstinence from worldly things.
The statement therefore enjoined Muslims to support the ambition of the governorship aspirant saying, “Oluyede though a Christian, is a secular person, who believes all religions are peculiarly one. We worship the same God.”
The APC governorship aspirant, who prayed Allah to grant President Muhammadu Buhari a speedy recovery from his ailment, promised that Ekiti people, irrespective of their religious beliefs, would enjoy equal privilege, if elected as the next governor of the state during the 2018 election.
