As full implementation of the Executive Order as directed by Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo gained momentum at the nation’s airports; Management of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has served a notice on the list of approved security agencies that can interface with passengers at the nation’s airport terminal even as their roles were specified.

FAAN in an advertorial published in the media, stated that only six security agencies are approved to interface with passengers in the airports.

The approved  six security agencies and their areas of operations are as follow: Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS), Arrival and Departure wings;  The Nigeria Customs Services (NSC), Arrival wings only; National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Departure and Arrival;  State Security Services (SSS), Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit, (EOD) and  Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine services (NAQS) cargo terminals only.

The notice has however restricted operations of Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine services (NAQS) to only cargo terminals.

he notice added that operatives of NIS, NS and NDLEA must always appear in their uniforms with undetachable name tags while on duties.

While it said that SSS are for intelligence gathering, the notice insisted that the EOD will only function on call at the baggage hall.
