The Hon. Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Barr Festus Keyamo (SAN) has given a directive to set up a committee that will look into the exploration of revenue potential of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Keyamo gave the directive set after receiving briefings from management of FAAN; wherein he discovered that FAAN has very huge revenue potential yet untapped.
The Committee which will be under the chairmanship of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole will look into how to harness the revenue potential of the agency.
A statement by the Director Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, FAAN, Abdullahi Yakubu Funtua said: ” The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Barr Festus Keyamo (SAN) in the course of receiving briefings from the FAAN Management observed that there are so many potential opportunities for ramping up the revenue profile of the Agency. To this end, the Hon. Minister has directed that these sources of revenue be explored to the fullest.”
The Committee which is expected to have its focus on how to boost revenue from Advertisements at the Airports; Ticketing System at the FAAN Facilities and Waivers on payment of FAAN Services, has four weeks to come up with a comprehensive report and proffer solution.
