The pioneer graduates of Aviatrix Hub Training Institute have been charged to be good ambassadors of the industry and their alma mater in particular.
The charge was given by stakeholders present during the maiden graduation ceremony of the institute held on Friday at National Secretariat building of Air Transport Services Senior Staff Associates of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos.
Aviatrix, a Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) certified Aviation Training Organization (ATO), commenced operations with the enrollments and training of flight dispatchers in Basic and Advanced. courses a few months ago.
The graduating students went through a six week intensive Basic flight dispatch training
The pioneer graduates at the Lagos center included: Lydia Olodun, Jude Olayiwola, Angela Chukwu and Afoma Onyechi students went through a six week intensive Basic Flight Dispatch training.
While those who graduated in Enugu are Ibanga Matthew, Ibrahim Nathaniel, Orungbami Shola,. Ibeabuchi Princewill and Aizenabor Benedicta.
Others are Ukpong Sunday,Anyanwu Henry, Chukwuka Godsglory and Ezenwa Anita.
Speaking at the event held in Lagos, Chairman of the occasion and the first President, Flight Dispatchers Association of Nigeria (FLIDAN), Taiwo Raji advised the graduates to be of good conduct outside the school in the course practising their profession.
Raji urged them to be job creators and not job seekers and to also join hands with others in finding solutions to challenges and not create more challenges.
“To the graduands, today is your day and we are all sharing the joy with you and my advice for you is to know that graduating here today is a great achievement in your chosen career.
“In addition, I would like to advise you to be of good character outside school life when you will be working with others in diverse groups or organisations. Your qualification can make you better with hard work and good conduct. Have the determination to be job creators and not job seekers. Join, fix the challenges and not create more challenges, remember to always be good ambassadors of your family and the institute,” he advised.
The FLIDAN President commended the management and staff of the institute for the knowledge they imparted on the graduands and the graduating students for pursuing their chosen careers despite the challenges.
During the intensive training, NCAA was at the premises of Aviatrix Hub Training Institute to monitor and observe and the regulatory body rated Aviatrix Hub highly for its style of training.
Also in the course of their studies, the graduands were hosted at the Control Tower of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport(MMIA), where they witnessed firsthand the communications between the pilots and the control tower and how clearances were handled.
In her speech at the occassion, the Accountable Manager /Chief Executive Officer of Aviatrix Hub Training Institute, Mrs. Victoria Adegbe, expressed joy at the graduation of the school’s batch of students.
Adegbe urged the graduands to be focused and steadfast in their profession as Flight Dispatchers are very important to flight operations.
Butressing her points further, the Aviatrix CEO, explained to the excited graduands that without Flight Dispatchers, there is no way any flight can take off.
She urged the graduands to always feel free to communicate with her in the course of the job to enjoy what she described as, “I run an open door policy”.
Also speaking, the representative of the President, ATSSSAN, Comrade Frances Akinjole commended the determination of the Accountable Manager /CEO of the school for starting on a very good foundation, adding that he believed what he has seen is the beginning of what to expect from her.
On his part, the Editorial Page Editor, Nation newspapers, Mr. Sanya Oni urged the students to be the spark of light in their little corner as they jourmey into the labour market.
For the CEO, Sanya said that he was not surprised that Adegbe is succeeding because she has the zeal, passion and determination to succeed, urging her to keep the flag flying.
Meanwhile, the CEO said that the second batch would be graduating in December.
Present at the occasion were the General Manager, Aeronautic Information Service (AIS), Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Kabir Gusau, the Chief Inspector /Maintenance Safety and Aircraft Maintenance Engr. Sherry Kyari , members of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) led by its Chairman, Olusegun Koiki and representatives from Airline Operators of Nigeria(AON) and her former students.
